1. Amazon launches Lens Live with real-time AI scanning for instant product matches
Amazon just dropped Lens Live in their shopping app. This AI feature instantly scans products in real-time and shows matching items in a swipeable carousel without taking photos. It integrates Rufus AI to give product insights, summaries, and answer questions while you browse. The tech uses on-device computer vision to identify objects and matches them against billions of products. Available now for tens of millions of iOS users and rolling out in coming weeks.

2. Mistral AI gives away enterprise features for free, challenging ChatGPT and Claude
Mistral just changed the game for business AI. The French startup launched free enterprise features in Le Chat including memory that retains context across conversations and 20+ app integrations with GitHub, Atlassian, and Stripe. Their memory capacity is 10x higher than competitors for paying users. The company claims 86% retrieval accuracy and launched this alongside Mistral Small v24.09. Even their free tier gets these premium features that competitors charge for.

3. Tesla unveils Master Plan 4 focusing on AI robots and "sustainable abundance"
Tesla released Master Plan Part 4 on September 1, shifting from sustainable energy to "sustainable abundance" through AI and robotics. The plan centers on Optimus humanoid robots handling dangerous and monotonous tasks, with production targets of 5,000 units by 2025 scaling to 1 million by 2029. Musk says 80% of Tesla's future value will come from AI and robotics. The document promises to eliminate scarcity through technology but lacks specific timelines and milestones.

4. WordPress reveals Telex, experimental AI tool for building website blocks
WordPress co-founder Matt Mullenweg showed off Telex at WordCamp US 2025 in Portland. This experimental AI development tool lets users create Gutenberg blocks by typing prompts, returning them as zip files you can install as plugins. Available at telex.automattic.ai, it's labeled experimental with early testers finding several projects failed or needed extra work. Mullenweg compared it to V0 or Lovable but specifically for WordPress, saying AI could democratize publishing even further.

5. Microsoft gives US government $6 billion cloud discount and free AI Copilot
Microsoft just signed a massive deal with the US government. They're offering $6 billion in cloud savings over three years through discounts on Azure, Microsoft 365, and Dynamics 365. Federal agencies get Microsoft 365 Copilot free for 12 months for millions of G5 users. The GSA agreement lets agencies opt in through September 2026 with discounts lasting up to 36 months. This follows similar deals from Google, Amazon, and OpenAI as part of the OneGov strategy.

6. Samsung reportedly unveiling tri-fold phone and AI glasses on September 29
Samsung's planning a huge September 29 event in South Korea. Leaks suggest they'll reveal the Galaxy Z TriFold with a 9.96-inch unfolded display and dual-hinge design folding inward. The Project Moohan XR headset running Android XR will compete with Apple Vision Pro, potentially launching October 13. They're also showing AI smart glasses called Galaxy Glasses. Samsung's only preparing 50,000 tri-fold units initially, priced around $2,930, limited to Korea and China.
