Hey there,
Big changes in AI today.
OpenAI just gave Codex a serious upgrade that can spend hours thinking.
Google's betting billions on the UK.
And Elon's xAI is making some tough cuts.
Let's dive in.
The Simplest Way To Create and Launch AI Agents
Imagine if ChatGPT and Zapier had a baby. That's Lindy. Build AI agents in minutes to automate workflows, save time, and grow your business.
Let Lindy's agents handle customer support, data entry, lead enrichment, appointment scheduling, and more while you focus on what matters most - growing your business.

1. OpenAI's GPT-5-Codex Thinks for Up to 7 Hours
OpenAI just released GPT-5-Codex, and it's a game changer. The new model can dynamically adjust its thinking time from seconds to seven hours depending on task complexity. Unlike regular models that decide upfront how much compute to use, GPT-5-Codex figures it out as it goes. It beats GPT-5 on coding benchmarks and makes fewer mistakes in code reviews. Available now for all ChatGPT Plus, Pro, Business, Edu, and Enterprise users through terminal, IDE, GitHub, or ChatGPT.

2. Google Invests £5 Billion in UK AI Infrastructure
Google just opened its first UK data center in Waltham Cross, Hertfordshire, backed by a massive £5 billion investment over two years. Chancellor Rachel Reeves called it a powerful vote of confidence in the UK economy. The investment covers research, development, and engineering including Google DeepMind's AI research. The facility will create 8,250 new AI jobs annually and help add £400 billion to the UK economy by 2030. Google partnered with Shell to run operations at 95% carbon-free energy by 2026.

3. OpenAI Building Team for Humanoid Robots
OpenAI is quietly rebuilding its robotics division after shutting it down in 2020. New hires include Stanford researcher Chengshu Li who worked on humanoid household robot benchmarks. Job postings seek engineers for teleoperation, simulation, sensing, and prototyping to build general-purpose robots. The company already invested in robotics startups Figure AI and 1X. According to Wired, multiple AI agents will coordinate to deliver complete robots with the goal of advancing toward artificial general intelligence.

4. Nothing Raises $200M, Now Worth $1.3 Billion
Smartphone startup Nothing closed a $200 million Series C led by Tiger Global, pushing its valuation to $1.3 billion. The company founded by OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei has now raised over $450 million total. Nothing hit $1 billion in sales earlier this year and shipped over a million units in Q2 2025. The company plans to launch an AI-first device next year with personalized features extending beyond smartphones. They recently hired former Linktree executive Sélim Benayat to lead AI services.

5. CoreWeave Signs $6.3 Billion Deal with Nvidia
CoreWeave struck a massive $6.3 billion cloud computing deal with Nvidia that runs through April 2032. The arrangement guarantees Nvidia will buy any unsold cloud capacity, giving CoreWeave a solid revenue floor. CoreWeave operates AI data centers in the US and Europe offering access to Nvidia's GPUs for training large models. The deal builds on their April 2023 agreement and sent CoreWeave's stock up 8% on Monday. This follows CoreWeave's $11.9 billion contract with OpenAI over five years.

6. xAI Lays Off 500 Data Annotators
Elon Musk's xAI laid off 500 employees from its data annotation team, about a third of the 1,500-person group training Grok. The company is shifting from generalist AI tutors to specialists in areas like medicine, finance, and STEM. xAI plans to expand its specialist tutor team by 10x despite the cuts. Workers will be paid through November 30 but lost system access immediately. The restructuring follows several senior departures including former CFO Mike Liberatore who left in July.
